We have friends and partners in Montreal, across Canada and around the world.

Thanks

This website owes much to some very talented partners, members and friends of St. James but particularly to two young men – our webmaster Jonathan Addleman and Michael MacEachen of Left-Hand Ideas.

As you can see, Jonathan is a very good webmaster. He works professionally which is to say modestly, cheerfully, quickly, creatively and efficiently. Until now, many at St. James have known him only as a church musician of note – indeed of many notes. He is baritone section leader in the St. James Choir, accompanist to the Every Kid Choir and has performed in the St. James Summer Recital Series as harpsichordist and solo saxophone player. (He has bachelor's degrees in harpsichord and saxophone and a Masters degree in harpsichord performance from McGill University where also he has worked on the university’s technical support staff.) And he recorded Philip Crozier’s latest compact disc in the church. We are very lucky to have him.

Michael, as a communications consultant and marketer, has left his fingerprints all over the website and indeed the church.

We must also thank Michael’s colleague, Luigi Luzio, many of whose photographs adorn the site. Photojournalist Andrew Soong – whose work has been widely published in Canada and abroad -- did for us the dramatic picture of the church at night on the home page, and a number of others throughout the website and gave us his services willingly and intuitively. Volker Christian Mehlfeld, a young German tourist, spent two days taking photos in the church and shared some of the results with us. Our resident water-colorist Susan Mott has been generous with her time, talents and vision.

And the practical assistance we received from Alain Spitzer and Bernard Racicot of the St. James Drop-In Centre, Paula Kline of the Montreal City Mission and Lydie Descroix and Judith Bricault of UMif illustrates in a very real way how partnership works at St. James.

This website was and remains a project of the Session of St. James United Church. I would like to thank my colleagues on that board for their warm support and creative insights. And we owe a great debt to the inspiring leadership of our pastor, Rev. Arlen Bonnar.
